Vineyard Manager - Jan Grimes

Jan Grimes was with Galer Estate from the very beginning, digging our first trenches ten years ago, planting our first vines, and helping to manage everything in the vineyard throughout the year. Energetic and experienced, Jan Grimes is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University's Agriculture Program and a certified viticulturist from Washington State University's Viticulture Program with over ten years of hands-on experience in vineyard management.

 

Jan is also owner and manager of Brandywine Vines, a viticulture consulting company that works with many new and existing local vineyards. Her care and attention to every vine, and conscientious communication and deliberation with the winemaker and owners, make Jan a treasured member of the Galer Estate team. Handcrafted award-winning wine begins with meticulous care in the vineyard.

 

Most recently, Jan and her crew planted 2 acres of Gruner Veltliner at the Galer Estate Home Vineyard.
